🤝 What we promise beyond salary
🧠 We greatly value psychological safety and honest feedback. We always expect you to speak up and share your ideas about what we can improve within the company, and take these views to heart.
💬 We do routine 1:1's with your supervisor, retrospectives, and insight hours to make sure we are constantly getting better at what we do, all while fostering employee mental health and wellbeing.
💡 Professional development is something strongly encouraged by Luminovo, so there are no fixed budgets when it comes to things that will further your professional growth (education, trainings etc.). Make a case for it, and we usually say yes!
🤸 We offer a flexible working environment (fully-remote, hybrid, and on-site in Munich), and appreciate everyone managing their working hours to achieve their ideal work-life integration.
👶 When it comes to our take on parent support, Luminovo happily contributes to the childcare costs of Luminerds.
💸 We're excited to revolutionize the electronics industry – and we want you to be too. That's why all full-time Luminerds receive attractive virtual stock option packages.
Our software platform is built to solve procurement issues in the trillion-dollar electronics industry. In other words: Luminovo is redefining the software stack used to bring any type of electronics to live.

🚀 Your role
You can find the general performance dimensions for software engineers at Luminovo in this RFC. This link leads you straight to our internal documentation, so you’ll already get a feeling for how we communicate within the team.
However, this role is a little special. 👀
We have just launched a new team that is building an SRM (supplier relationship management) add-on from scratch.
They are acting as a startup-in-a-startup and we’re looking for the first “founding” engineer of that team.
The team has strong traction already: thanks to 5 (paying) design partners from the industry they are learning from customer feedback in real time and the working mode has been to build fast, ship fast and learn fast in a tight loop with our customers.
Your goal right after joining will be to help the team ship the first full version and prepare for a broader market launch. We started the team because we believe it can contribute a 7-figure sum to Luminovo’s revenue just through that add-on!
The reason we’re calling this role “product engineer” and not just “software engineer” is that as the first engineer in a team of three, you’ll be an active part not just of building and crunching through Linear issues, but also of finding out what to build: building a real understanding of the domain, helping us identify what problems to tackle next and shaping pragmatic solutions we can ship and learn from.
-
We expect you to bring strong technical experience and product thinking, balancing technical excellence with what creates the most value for the product and its users.
💻 Our tech stack
We always try to use the best tools available for the job. Don't worry, we don't need you to be familiar with all of these:
Encore and Typescript for the backend
Rust for our main monolith
React and Typescript for frontend
PostgreSQL for persisting our data
Sentry and Honeycomb for monitoring and observability
-
Azure for cloud computing
🤓 Whom you’ll be working with (this of course, always changes)
Even though this is still very open, here are some of the people that you could potentially be working with:
Martin – Product Manager, driving product development and co-leading the SRM team with Alessio.
Alessio – our Lead Product Designer, shaping product vision and co-leading the SRM team with Martin.
Timon, one of our Founders, and also leads the whole P&E department at Luminovo.
Other Software Engineers like Rene, Sofia, Tevin, and Tomas.
⚡️ Skills, knowledge, and expertise
Just so you know – we purposefully did not create a standard list of minimum qualifications for this role. We care much more about your motivation and ability to help us accelerate technical progress than we care just about your CV. If you're interested to find out more about why we banned requirements from our performance profiles – see here.
