Qualifications for Success
- Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment through strong communication and teamwork skills such as pairing.
- Dynamic Learning: Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and learning-driven environment, even when faced with ambiguity.
- We value a strong desire to learn. While experience with every technology listed and other complex technologies is a plus, it's not required from day one. What matters most is your enthusiasm to acquire new skills and grow with us.
- Navigate Complex Systems: Proven ability to navigate complex distributed systems through relevant work experience; experience building and supporting complex software products is an advantage
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Golang
- Hands-on experience in crafting and managing platforms using Kubernetes; experience with public cloud services, CNCF technologies, or the HashiCorp stack is useful
Interview Process
Thoughtful Interview Process: Our interview process is designed to be inclusive and thorough, comprising several stages:
- Open conversation with our in-house recruiter, Rekha
- Technical and values based conversation with our Engineering Manager, Shane, and/or our CTO, Chris
- A remote coding exercise with one of our senior engineers
- An opportunity to meet our team in person at our office, covering an architecture discussions, a pairing exercise and time to get to know the team and find out about life at Syntasso
Compensation, Perks & Benefits
- We believe in creating a work environment that is sustainable so we have a 35 hour week
- Our office is based in London Bridge and is available to use every day if you choose, but we have a hybrid working policy:
Office Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Remote Days: Monday and Friday by default
Monthly Team Office Day: Every 3rd Tuesday of the month
In practice, how often some are in office varies from once a week to once a month but you need to available and willing to be in the office up to 3 times a week - We're expecting big things when it comes to the growth of our company and we want everyone to benefit from the growth in value by offering share options
- You are entitled to 25 days of annual leave, plus UK public holidays. Additionally, you'll earn one extra day of holiday for each year worked, up to a maximum of 30 days. You can carry forward up to 5 days into the next calendar year and take up to 5 days of unpaid leave if needed
- We dedicate every other Friday as a research day for experimentation and skill development to keep Syntasso thriving
- We organise one official company social per quarter, with past events including darts and ping pong. Unofficially, team members often gather for drinks after the monthly team office days
